Introduction Lesson

This is a straightforward getting to know you lesson.

We play and talk about what you like, discuss your goals, and to see if we get on. By the end of the Introduction lesson you will have created your own learning plan which details your specific goals and how you are going to achieve them. If you want to start having one-to-one or two-to-one practical lessons in piano or singing, you need to come for an individual introduction lesson.

The lesson is structured into two parts. The first part is a 20 minute practical lesson. We find the right music for you play and then have a play. We start with what you feel comfortable with. If you're a beginner then we start at the beginning. If you've played or sung before then we pick up where you want to. The structure of this lesson runs in a shortened down format as you would expect to have in a normal lesson.

The second half is to set your targets and create your learning plan. What you learn is up to you. We chat about your requirements, ambitions and any previous experience you may or may not have. From this you can set your own short, medium and long term goals and create plan specifally for your needs. If your goals change then your plan can be updated as and when you want it to.

Before your introduction lesson please can you let me know what you are interested in and/or the pieces of music which you are currently playing/singing? This will enable me to prepare for your introduction so we can get straight on with the lesson. It also gives me an idea of what standard you are at and what your interests are.
